Blog#6

With Halloween right around the corner it is time to get those classic Halloween movies out. With the smell of popcorn popping, the blankets in the dryer heating up, and those favorite fall Bath and Body works candles burning, it is only right to complete the holiday with your favorite Spooky movies. I am going to give you my top three movies I watch every year for Halloween.

 Hocus Pocus!
This is by far my favorite movie to watch. Not only is it funny but it tells a really good story. This movie is so popular and if you haven't seen you must be living under a rock. This is about a family who moves to Salem, a teenager named Max, his litter sister Dani, and one of Max's new friend Allison head to an old house where Allison tells a superstitious story about the three witches who would steal the souls of children to become youthful again. Max calls this superstition "hocus pocus" then proceeds to light the black flamed candle freeing the three witches. They come across a magic black cat that helps take down the Sanderson sisters. They have to stop them before they take the children and become immortal. This is a family rated movie and one of the bests. I highly recommend!

My second favorite movies are not for the faint heart. H20 Halloween is by far my favorite. Although I always watch the Halloween movies, I think up to H20 they are all really good but after H20 they became played out and the same thing, which is why I stop at this one. Everyone knows about Michael Myers and how scary he is so you will definitely jump in some scenes so get your popcorn ready! Twenty years later after surviving a horrible massacre in 1978, Michael Myers finds Lauri to finish what he started. Lauri moved far away to escape Myers, however this didn't stop him from finding her. With Halloween approaching she is seeing him pop up all over her little town. Then when Halloween comes she finds herself fighting him once again. I recommend big blankets to hid your face in and popcorn to throw in the air while watching.
                                                                                                                                         H20 Halloween!

My last but certainly not least is The Nightmare Before Christmas. Now I'm not sure if anyone else has the same issue but, are you supposed to watch this for Halloween or are you supposed to watch this for Christmas? If anyone know please let me know. The Nightmare Before Christmas is about Jack Skellington, who is the beloved pumpkin king. He is bored with Halloween, he does the same thing over and over every year. He wants something adventurous and different. As he starts walking to the trees of different lands, he opens the door to Christmas Town. Falling down the tree he discovers a new town that is filled with lights, toys, and new people. Jack wants to takeover Christmas as his own so he kidnaps Santa Clause. He learns a new life lesson in his journey that gives him a new appreciation for his own town. Although this is not scary it is fun and gets you in both Halloween and Christmas Spirit! I think watching in October and December are both adequate.

Well fellow bloggers these are my top three favorite classics I enjoy watching every year for Halloween and maybe Christmas. I hope you find time to have a mvie night of all these. There is a little secret I'm going to share. When you watch Halloween movies watch a funny one then watch a scary one, finishing off with another warm/funny movie. That way you'll be able to turn off the lights before you go to bed. Till next time 😁

  2. OMG! I'm obsessed with Halloween, I'm that person who decorates for the "holiday". I always watch Hocus Pocus first, also the second Hocus Pocus was confirmed so they are making another one. I also watch the Haunted Mansion with Eddie Murphey, its a "kids" movie but I still love it. I also watch the Addams family and Corpse Bride; pretty much any Halloween related movies. I also do the same for Christmas. I love the end of the years bc of the holidays.

  3. I LOVE the versatility of these movies. Hocus Pocus and Nightmare Before Christmas are always the best, but I've never actually heard of the second one! I love horror movies, but actual scary ones. So I might give that one a try! Also, if you like SCARY or gory movies, I recommend "The Wailing" on Amazon Prime. It's a Korean horror film and it's AMAZING. I definitely encourage you to give it a try.

  5. I really enjoyed reading your blog. My absolute favorite Halloween movie is Hocus Pocus. I feel like it doesn't get the recognition it deserves.
