#0 Just little ol me!
Hey fellow bloggers, my name is Jennifer but I usually go by Jen. I don't like my full name because back in the day a full name meant a whooping and boy did I sure get a lot of those. Growing up I was always outside, so naturally, that's where I tend to spend most of my time. I have two German Shepherds that demand to go on walks everyday. I'm still not sure if I'm walking them or if they are walking me. Although they are a handful at times, like chewing up red pens or anything they can get their teeth on, they are the best hiking buddies and "scary" guard dogs.
My favorite season is winter, or what I like to call "Swinter" here in Arizona. Even the coldest days feel like I'm standing on lava. With that being said, there are so many exciting things that you can do in the winter from waking up and making hot chocolate to decorating your house with Christmas lights! Speaking of Christmas, which is by far my favorite holiday, I really feel like it brings so much joy with all the beautiful decorations, the smell of fresh cookies in the oven, and thinking of silly DIY projects. Pinterest is so useful for doing DIY's, not only for holiday fun, but for bigger projects. I learned how to build my vanity from Pinterest which I definitely recommend for all you DIY enthusiasts.
I am currently working on becoming a registered nurse, then moving on to becoming a nurse practitioner. I either want to run my own practice or work directly under a Dermatologist. I love everything about skin. SERIOUSLY, I love your face! We always show a little skin, so why not give it the best care. I want to take my medical knowledge and apply that to advanced skincare. Some people believe that skin health is not a concern, or a top priority, but it should be, because your skin is the first line of defense to everyday life. I want to educate people about being proactive with their skin. My biggest pet peeve is people who don't wear sunscreen. (I blame aesthetics school for this) but its the easiest way to prevent skin cancer, anti-ageing and overall skin health. There are many different types of sunscreen, not all protect the same. I know many people say "I hate the greasy feeling, it makes me break out" or my personal favorite, "my makeup has it in it". Not all sunscreens do those things. Ingredients are key to a good sunscreen. Key ingredients like: Titanium oxide and zinc oxide with 30 spf or higher is a helpful tip to get a great sunscreen. Here is a helpful blog that goes more in depth about skin health.
I know it seems like I LOVE to ramble on about sunscreen, but I wanted to make it clear just how passionate I am about what I do. That's one thing people tend to notice about me. Once I have my heart set on something, I put 110% into it. I want to take the time to educate. To walk with you on your journey and to help in any way I can. I want to ensure that I make everyone feel like a top priority, not just a number on a spreadsheet. With the direction it seems the world is heading, I want to do my part to make it better and I feel spreading kindness and healing is one way to do that. Let's all vomit sunshine and be kind to one another.

I appreciate your ramble about sunscreen, I have been a swimmer for forever and a half, and I always put sunscreen on. I have been hearing those kinds of excuses for years, it is always a good time trying to find the logic in letting themselves refusing to put it on.
ReplyDeleteHi Jen! I really enjoyed your blog! I learned quite a bit, and I'll definitely be investing in sunscreen from now on lol. I love Christmas as well!! I feel like it's just such a happy time and the vibes are so positive and it just makes me so happy! I've always wanted to build my own vanity. I always see DIY videos about them and I think it'd be a cool a way to pass time and do something myself. Also, your dogs are super cute!
ReplyDeleteHey Jen! Your blog was a thrill to read! I enjoyed reading how you go in great depth about your passion. I also love the "swinter" here in Arizona, the sunsets here are honestly the best. I always enjoy doing DIY's because it's more fun putting it together that way.
ReplyDeleteHi Jen! I love Christmas! I love the atmosphere of xmas or any holiday in general. Also your dogs are cute. I'm happy you're passionate about skin care, I always stress to my family that wearing sunscreen is important, but nobody listens. Winter is alright here, but i lived in New York for a couple years and we had a white and snow storming xmas. You probabaly would like the snow !
