Blog #1 Whats your blog?
Blogs, Blogs, Blogs, there are so many, where do we start? Looking over some of the blogs, I was skeptical because there are just so many to choose from. I started questioning what I am actually looking for. On this quest I tried to narrow my search into things that caught my eye and that didn’t have a crazy number of adds/pop-ups. While going through I noticed that blogs are a great way to write to an audience that is either like minded or is searching for something direct. You literally can find a blog about anything! Although I have never blogged before, I am exploring my options on what I want my blog to look like. Until then I will endeavor more blogs!
The second blog I found buried around the rocks was called
“Transform your life with Be, Do, and Have.” I did not like this blog/podcast
because initially I thought it was going to give me more information in the text
of the blog on what you can do to improve your life or different techniques. It
was more towards the podcast, I started listening to the podcast and I could
not seem to get into what he was saying. Continue to listen on he had great
points about your thought process on your own life, but it felt as though he was
rambling in the beginning then got more in depth more than half way through. If
I’m looking for a motivational blog I want something to be uplifting loud
colorful, but this was not it, the tone was not catching my attention. There
wasn’t any pictures the color scheme was black and orange which reminded me of Halloween.
There links were to just subscribe to the podcast. If the reader is more about
podcasts this is a perfect blog for them. Personally, I couldn’t get invested.
After some clicking here and clicking there, I clicked
my third blog that blew the socks right off my feet. This blog was very aesthetically
pleasing, there was more than one blog I would like to read, and I related to
this blog more than any other. “Thirteen Thoughts, Nine Self-care practices for
the mind” was very organized with bold points and easy to follow text., like personalized
touches that the audience can relate to. Self-care is very important, and it
seems like we neglect it very often. Readers that are looking for tips or ideas
to improve themselves mentally I would recommend this blog. Seriously check it
out. https://www.thirteenthoughts.com/self-care-practices-for-the-mind/.
Reading though many different blogs I concluded that you can find any type of blog that you are looking for. There are many different styles to blogs, it also shows that using links, pictures, and podcast can really make or break how to catch reader. I have a better understanding on how I would like my blog to be. To make it my style and show my personality and creativity through writing. Until next time fellow bloggers.
A blog from an author that can connect with their discussion and audience is, more likely than not, going to be a good one. The author and their audience have the same or similar experiences, so they can form a better connection. From your thoughts, and from what I have seen myself, I gathered that good blogs are usually easy to follow and look visually pleasing. The second blog that you shared your thoughts on seemed to have a misleading title. It didn't make up for it with its content either, which I can understand why you'd be disappointed with it. I experienced a similar situation myself.
ReplyDeleteI think what makes a blog a successful one, after hours of rummaging through a myriad of them, is the visual appeal and a solid purpose. It doesn't take much to engage an audience in my opinion if you have those specific things. The first blog you shared definitely caught my interest immediately because of the visuals and because it's an interest that I'm heavily attracted to, that being skincare! I feel that, overall, if I can't connect with a blog emotionally before anything else, it's much tougher to sit through and read it.
ReplyDeleteHello I did check out the thirteenthoughts link and found it very informative. Since starting this project I have found myself looking at blogs in a different light. This thirteenthoughts was good and will be one I will check out again. I really need to pay more attention to me and know that self care is very important. I like the different pictures and colors them seem to be saying something to me like hey take care of you.
