Blog#4 Spooky, Scary, Candy!

It's spooky season again, where the streets are filled with witches, goblins, and ghouls. Halloween decorations fill the yards of houses, witches caldrons over fill with candy, and pumpkin cravings light the way. Not only is this holiday for dressing up as your favorite character, but it is a time to get a massive amount of candy. Now, finding where you're going to get those giant candy bars is the real question and the key to a successful night. The goal is to overfill your pumpkin bucket with candy. Kids look forward to this night, planning a strategic operation to hit the best neighbors, where they will get the biggest and best types of candy. Lets all be honest here, we do not want grandma and grandpas old mints sitting on their table from ages ago, and we certainly do not want any healthy alternatives. There is room to sacrifice one day out of the year to get candy wasted.

As a kid, getting dressed up as your favorite character, showing off your costumes, and getting a treat is the best thing in the world. Kids go absolutely bananas, they are so smart that they already know going to different neighborhood demographics will get them better candy. According to this survey, kids favorite candy was 45% chocolate dominate, things like; KitKats, Reese, Hershey's, and Snickers. You can check it out here: https://blog.fieldagent.net/kids-survey-top-halloween-treats-candy-brands-of-trick-or-treaters. Now with that being said, there will be candy given out that I believe the candy police should take immediate action against. Candy like; Weather's original, Brach's, and boxes of Raisins are not something a child wants to get in their bag.

As an adult we want what's best for our children, unfortunately that doesn't include them rotting their teeth with cavities. However, giving a child one night a year to go have a candy frenzy is ok. With that being said there are always precautions as a parent you can take such as; checking the candy for open packaging, physically going through the candy for any foreign objects, and of course doing a quality taste check just be safe. Here is another link for tips on checking your tricker treaters candy bag.  https://www.thatfitfam.com/check-kids-halloween-candy/ Halloween is filled with many traditions and quality time spent with our loved ones. Getting candy is just another perk that comes along with it. I hope everyone enjoys their spooky, scary, candy!  Until next time fellow bloggers.
